Nigerian Copper Bracelets also known as manillas are a form of commodity money which is usually made of copper or bronze. They were widely used in West Africa and produced in a wide range of designs, sizes and weights. Originating before the colonial period, manillas continued to serve as money and decorative objects until the late 1940s and are still used as decoration to this day.
