Neoclassical Revival Urn-Back Dining Chairs, Set of 3
One of a kind. Three Continental European dining chairs in the Neoclassical Revival taste, early twentieth century, in oak with a distressed surface.
The back is the whole argument: a carved urn rising from the seat rail to a shaped crest, the shape borrowed from the classical vocabulary that came back into furniture design around the turn of the century. The finish is worn through on the crest and the front of the seat rail where hands and chairs have met it for a hundred years.
The seats have been reupholstered in new fabric in our Houston workshop, so the set is ready to use as it arrives.
Sold as the three that came together. Odd numbers work at a desk, at a console, or split across rooms.
